Director General of DIS Vittorio Rizzi visits the OSINT Centre of Excellence

On 16 July 2026, Prefect Vittorio Rizzi, Director General of the Department of Information for Security (Dipartimento delle Informazioni per la Sicurezza - DIS), the coordinating authority of the Italian intelligence community, met in Zagreb with the Director of the OSINT Centre of Excellence, Dr. Tomislav Dokman.

The Head of DIS expressed strong support for the Centre's work and its continued development, emphasizing that the Italian intelligence community recognizes it as one of Europe's key strategic hubs for the advancement of OSINT.
 
He noted that their contribution to the Centre is fully aligned with the strategic priorities of Italy, which recognizes the growing importance of OSINT and artificial intelligence in modern intelligence and security operations and activities.
 
He also expressed support for the further expansion of the Centre's membership.
 
The visit of the Director General of DIS and his endorsement of the Centre's work represent an event of particular strategic significance. The support expressed by one of Europe's leading intelligence communities for the Centre's activities and future development further reinforces its international reputation, enhances its visibility at the European level, and strengthens its position as a leading platform for the development of OSINT capabilities, international knowledge exchange, and innovative technological solutions in the field of intelligence and security.
