Mr Stefano Vincenzi started his professional career in 1990 when he joined the Italian Ministry of the interior, as member of the Prefect career, providing legal advice to different Ministry Offices on asylum and migration issues.
Few years later he started acting as representative of Italy at the EU working group on asylum. Lecturer at the National Advanced Training Institute for the Ministry of the Interior’s Personnel (Scuola Superiore dell’Amministrazione dell’Interno) and at the National Institute for Police Forces.
From 2000 to 2002 he was detached at the European Union Commission, General Directorate for Justice and Home Affairs (DG JHA), Immigration and Asylum Unit. In such a framework he drafted the proposal for a Directive laying down minimum standards on the reception of applicant for asylum (COM/2001/181).
From 2003 to 2004 he was back to the Ministry of the Interior, as member of a task force established by the Minister to organise and manage the Ministry of the Interior’s main activities to be held during the EU Italian Presidency (2nd semester 2003). It included the organisation of the informal EU meeting in Rome of the Ministers of the Interior and Justice.
From 2004 onwards he has been working at the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, dealing with International relations, analysis and open sources.
He was appointed as the OSINT Centre of Excellence Deputy Director by the Centre Steering Committee, on its meeting on 8 April 2026.
